Can anyone please tell me how far apart these two hotels are.
Is there a beach near by .
Are there bars etc in walking distance.
Questions from Hubby.

| Madeira has no real beaches as such...apart from a few small man made ones associated with hotels. Certainly none near the two hotels mentioned. A reasonable number of bars within walking distance. One easy way to get around is on the bus. More bars in Funchal town centre. |

Well I've seen the Savoy described as ten minute walk to Funchal which is about right and the Ocean Park as 25 minutes so as you'd pass the Savoy on your way into Funchal I guess the hotels are about fifteen minutes or so walk apart. Note that depending on which way your going their may be hills involved.
There is a pedestrain promenade that goes past the Ocean Park not sure if it links to the Savoy though its a couple of years since I walked it. |

Thanks for the info, we are both excited about going.
Never been to Madiera before or stayed in a 5* anywhere
Just got to get flight's but they are a bit pricey.
Cheapest we found is £588 for two from Birmingham.
Thats with First Choice.
Not sure if we should book now or leave it a bit longer. _________________

Madeira flights are rarely cheap. Having said that on our last visit we paid a similar amount to you for flights and hotel and that was five star.
Which of the two hotels are you staying in and when you going.
Theres a restaurant area in the old town near the bus station/ cable car where theres a good selection of eats and prices are reasonable. Its got a bit of a buzz to it in the evening (well as much of a buzz as Madeira gets). |

We are staying at the Ocean Park going in September.
It's a timeshare exchange that's why we have no flights yet.
