My 8 year old had a friend round for tea tonight and whilst eating said friend told us, in some detail about a scene in Little Britain last night involving a willy being slapped by a woman I have personally never watched little britain but is this really the sort of thing that 8 year olds should be watching or am I hopelessly old fashioned? My 8 year old is in bed by 8pm school nights and 8.30 weekends and I am really careful about what he watches on telly. Am I being over protective? Is it normal for kids to watch adult programmes nowadays?
I'm really feeling quite paranoid now!
Lisa

I never really bought into Little Britain; some of the stuff they do is worth a chuckle, but some I sit back and think - "eh?"

The other week they had a 'sketch' about an old lady being incontinent in a supermarket. Apart from poking fun at elderly folk, I couldn't see where they were going with the piece.

my son is 12 and i have just started letting him watch it. My friend was watching it with her 11 yr old daughter last night but sent her to bed after 20 mins when it got rude. IMO it is not at all suitable for an 8 yr old (and maybe not for a 12 yr old )

I seen the clip your on about eloisa and to be honest I was mortified ... my 2 girls were watching it they are 12 and 9 and they love it ... along with their dad. I couldn't believe it when I saw the part you were on about ... infact I was mortified and i was waiting for the little one to ask me what it was! thankfully she didn't.

They are not watching it next week that is for sure.

I have only just let my 2 watch it... They are 12 (feb) and 13! I wasn't keen to let them but they are both at High School now so proberly see and hear more there

I saw bits of it last night, some I did giglge at (Ting Tong) but the rest went right over my head :?

And I am with you on this one eloisa mine wouldn't have watched it at 8, they would have been tucked up in bed, if not asleep  To be honest I am not keen on them watching it now but unfortunately they do grow up whether we like it or not

I thought it was hilarious but I agree a little bit too risque for youngsters. However when my 14 year old came home the other day and told me what they were learning in PSE I was gobsmacked. Apparently the teacher used all the words...w..... m........ oral......They all sat there mortified. Then the teacher asked if anyone had done any of them!!Then the gay Physics teacher came in and saw all the words on the blackboard...apparently his face was a picture and he made a hasty retreat. So I expect the kids nowadays know more then we think.

Your not paranoid Lisa , 8 is too young to be watching little britain.
I have only watched it once and didn't find it funny at all.

Malcolm in the midle , I find that so funny and its safe for kids to watch.

Don't like it

Its an adult program on after the 9 O'clock watershed so why is an 8 year old watching it?

I really like it esp. Vicky Pollard and Lou and Andy!

We love Little Britain. It is a bit naughty sometimes, but it is also on after 9pm. Soooooo dont let little ones watch it. I used to monitor what my son watched when he was small. Maybe others should do the same.

Little Britain is excellent.
