Da mama - went past the Oceania a few times - looking gooood!
Carol - we had a great time, would recommend the hotel to anyone. We had been to Rhodes before, but down the other end (Pefkos) so there was a lot of stuff that was new to us this time around. _________________ We are the people our parents warned us about! |

As I said above, we're just back from the Ixian Grand - we went for 2 weeks from 16/8; How was it? Read on ...
We got off to a dodgy start, being an hour late out of Gatwick due to all the extra security at the time (16th Aug.) Arriving at the hotel at about half 4 local time, to find our room wasn't ready We spent the night in room 341, a "family" room, with an exta seating area, which was quite nice. After breakfast we moved to room 246, a "standard" room, as per our booking. It was still of a reasonable size (3 of us, remember) with 3 single beds. The hotel apologised for the room mix up with a basket of fruit & a bottle of wine.
The public areas of the hotel are spotless, and are very well furnished - you can see where the money has been spent. The staff are all very friendly, and helpful, especially the bar staff
The 3 pools are all great, and the shingle beach gives way to sand about 2 yards into the water, and is very pleasant, so all you water babies will be happy. We're not great sunbed users, but we usually got one or two without any trouble, regardless of time.
The main restaurant is very nice, with all the food very well presented, with a reasonable selection, although like all AI buffets, it does get a bit boring after a while. The "ethnic" lunch restaurant makes a pleasant change, with a different cuisine every day - Greek, Spanish, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and so on. The a la carte wasn't that great when we went, but we were told that the menu was changed, and was much better the second week we were there.
We went on 3 trips while we were there - Symi, Marmaris, and the round the island trip, as well as going to Rhodes and Lindos by taxi a couple of times - if anyone wants details, just ask.
Overall, this was a very relaxing holiday, in a good hotel, and we are seriously considering booking here again soon. What more can I say? |
