Well I'm glad I got this from the library as its pretty hard going. Its nearly six hundred pages long...why?.. nothing much happens in it. Oh for the glory days of Mr Herbert when his stories were inventive and fair raced along.

I quite enjoyed it. I think I may have put a review on it here, but then again I may not have done.
My favourite of his was the one about the plane crash in Windsor. _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Yes thats a good one...The Survivor. I like most of his early stuff. I like the fact that his stories are set in the UK and have a sense of place.
His early works while not great literature, are good horror. I enjoyed the rats trilogy and The Fog, Shrine, Haunted but my favourite is not even horror its Fluke, the book being not quite as disneylike as the film. |

Oh dear Sunbear, I read the title and thought "great" because I bought this book last week in the second hand shop...........thought you were going to say how good it was.............................
Will give it a go but I must say his standard has been dropping for a while now, he used to be brilliant. |

Well opinion seems divided. I checked the reviews on Amazon and some are giving it five stars, personally I'll give it one and a half. I've read all his books so I've got a Herbert yardstick to measure it by and for me it falls near the bottom of the pile of his novels.
