Well I for one can't wait for Sept so I can go back to wonderful Icmeler.
I've been going now for the last 6 years, and I can't make myself go anywhere else, I just love the place.
Fantastic weather, beautiful scenery and more important wonderful friendly people, for me its like a second home. So if anyones thinking of Turkey for their Hols next year give Icmeler a try you won't regret it.

Ps watch out for the Turkey bug once it bites you'll be hooked. Laughing

Ok update

Tiger from the Venice has now left and is opening his own bar Called Tigers, It is situated between the Lion Bar and The Blue Corner towards the beach.

Also Lee from The Venice, has taken over the old Hotel Emhiran (sp) has completely refurbished it and put in a new eaterie etc, this is called Heat and Breeze.

The Lighthouse Has been demolished, however has been rebuilt and has 7 new apartments on top.

The Majestic has opened this week if you fancy popping over for a bite to eat

Ok I'm off for a look now.Reason I'm being a bit fussy is we like the look of Icemelar very much but am afraid we might find it a bit boring of an evening so would like to be near enough to Marmaris to walk in if we fancy a bit more life.OH can't walk huge distances after having a heart bypass a few years ago so we thought if we opted for that end of the resort we could have the best of both worlds

Pier?

I heard it's a Marina for the boats, as Nestle Marina in Icmeler wasn't taking them any more?

I like the canal area, so always opt for apartments or hotel around this area

I stand corrected, I have been informed it is a Pier, not a Marina as I was lead to believe.

its one hell of a walk into marmaris from icmelor. i think a dolmus would be your best bet,but i wouldnt worry theres plenty to keep you busy in icmelor you only need marmaris if your looking for big night clubs.

Posted this reply but for some reson it went into where are you going thread.....so I'll try again
I was told that if you had accomodation near the Marmaris end then it was only a short prom walk into Marmaris itself.....not having been there I don't know if this info is correct. We have been to Marmaris before but stayed in the Almutalan area

I know people who did this walk, it's about 45 mins to reach Marmaris, it's a nice walk, however Marmaris is like walking the full length of Blackpool

So even though you would reach Marmaris, it would take you another hour or two to walk it's full lenght, including time for looking in shops etc?

you can get a dolmus which will stop anywhere you wish, or a water Taxi from Icmeler to Marmaris?
