I just cant wait till the last book comes out to find out what happens.

Do any of you read Harry and if so would you like to discuss what you think might happen?

I dont want to launch into my ideas in case none of you are slightly interested............but Id love to say what I think will happen to Snape, Draco etc etc!!!

I love the HP books. the first one was definitely written for youger children and they have grown with the children they were intended to be written for.

Reading The Order Of The Phoenix made me really angry, I just wanted to get hold of some characters and shake them about a bit.

PMSL Stacey, but in a way its the good thing as they are imperfect! I mean it was really Harrys fault that Sirius got killed in that book, (or am I remembering correctly?)

In the last book I think that Snape will turn out to be a goodie and will die at the end (she says three characters will die)

Also think Draco will, well if not be "good" will turn out not to be as evil as he has been so far.

Originally theought that Dumbledore wasnt dead, but apparently JK Rowling said in an interview that he definitely IS!

I think that Dumbledore was asking Snape to kill him in the last book, and Snape "had" to do it, but I dont think he's evil. he's maintaining his cover.

I dont know who the other two characters who will die will be..............maybe Hagrid?

Also I think the initials in the locket (RAB) are Regulas Black.

Am wondering what the other horcruxes will be, wouldnt be surprised if one of them isisnt Harry's scar.

I totally agree with you about Snape. I think he's good really and there was a reason why Dumbledore had to die.

Really looking forward to the next book.

If you like these you should try the Stephen King Dark Tower series.

Oh Stacey I remember us talking about these and Ive read all Stephen King's books apart from them.

I ve tried the Gunslinger but just cant get "into" it, probably because its so different to his other stuff.

Wish I could though! Off topic but Stephen Kings last book "Liseys Story" is a bit of a let down. Im nearly finsihed it and am finding it a repeat of "Black House" and the "Talisman" etc.
No real new ideas there, and actually the characters are irritating the hell out of me..........but as I paid £10 for it Im persevering to the bitter end!

I've just started "Cell". It was released earlier this year and my mil bought it for my birthday. It's mental. Reminds me a bit of Dawn Of The Dead.

Try the Dark Tower series again. Book 1 is very confusing and I didn't get it but once I started book 2 it all sort of came together.

Yes I will give it another go. Ive heard so many people saying how great they are.

The problem was that he wrote three of the books years and years ago and at the time he said he would never finish the series, so I kind of lost interest, after all what was the point if there was no ending.............but then hes written the others and Ive kind of been left behind.

love all the harry potter books, can't wait til the next one, i think snape will turn out to be good as well, i think she'll kill one of the kids off, maybe ron or hermoine, i saw her being interviewed and she said fans may not like some of her plans for the new book. think i'll reread the series again as i've forgotton a lot of the story, she takes so long in between the books. when is the next one due out? anyone know.

I have read the books, but it was a while ago, and I've got all confused with what's what and who's who.

I'll have to read them again before the next one comes out

My younger son has read them lots of times....he grew up with them too. I know some critics say they're not all that original, but she has captured the essence of all sorts of things and made a new world which seems very real to youngsters, with characters we care about.

But I haven't read through this thread because I don't want to spoil any surprises.......

I agree with you Acorn, there are so many similarities between some of the characters (and the creatures) in HP and the Lord of the Rings Series, but saying that she has still created her own "world" with Hogwarts and the teachers/pupils etc.

I like the fact that they are all "human" and make mistakes/fall out with each other/sulk etc, because thats what "normal" 17 year olds do all the time!

I actually hadnt read the first book but started at the second one as David said it was a bit too childish, but I picked it up yesterday and was sorry I hadnt read it first, becuase I wasnt really "aware" of how cruel the Dursley's were to Harry before he started at Hogwarts.

I hope they get their "come uppance" in the last book............but I also think that Petunia will feature more in the last one, as "the blood" has been mentioned a few times and she was Lily's sister.

Anything that gets kids (and adults!!!) reading can only be a good thing!

I love H P .We fight over it when each new book first comes out.Hannah usually wins then I get to read it next then Vicki then my mum .
I don't think Sirius Black is dead and I think he will return in the last book.I too can't believe that Snape is truly evil but has so sort of pledge to look after Draco for some reason.Aunt Petunia is supposed to feature heavily in this last book,I've a feeling that she to has magical powers after all she is Lilly's sister.
I know 3 die but one apparently gets a reprieve
The last word in the last book is meant to be Scar.
I can't wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The thing is Gypsy, if you save it until your holiday it will only be out in hardback and do you want to lug a huge book away with you?

I'd read it before your holiday.
