Why are the BBC making such a big thing of this?  Why not just air the epsiode without saying a word?  Does it really make any difference whether all the actors are black?  Surely it should be the talent of the actors involved not their skin colour that has any bearing on this episode?

Agree entirely it should be the talent of the actors who count, not their nationality or colour.

I thought along the same lines, what are they trying to achieve by bringing it to our attention?

I would not have noticed,if I hadn't been told in advance.

Who was serving in the caff.
Who was serving in the vic.

The Sun seems to be making a story out of nothing, based on the apparent fact that their in-house TV reviewer suddenly reallised at the end of watching the preview tape "hang on a sec they only showed black people in this episode"

My guesse is the BBC didn't "make a big deal" of this, is because it isn't a big deal

If the BBC didn't want to draw attention to it why have an article about it on their online news pages - as can be seen from the link in the OP

I noticed that the extras were white....well most of them.....I think it's only those with speaking parts that were all black......They shouldn't have publicised it....I doubt it would have increased the ratings for last night so why bother to mention it.....unless of course it's something they are proud of.....but why.....they are just actors so at the end of the day does the colour of their skin matter......surely it's their acting ability and the entertainment value that counts.....not their ethnicity

I think they should be concentrating on curbing the amount of pre-watershed violence I see when I "flick" onto it. I've never seen a full episode, but when I flick onto it, all there is, is violence and violence.  I worry about the younger viewsers.
