Just booked to go to this hotel on June 6th, very excited.
Reviews online are mostly positive but wondered if any of you guys have stayed here.
Also, can anyone give me some local knowledge such as currency, injections, airport fee's, what kind of beasties I might encounter etc
And any other advice you might have.
Thanks

My mum went a couple of years back and loved it. She would go back tomorrow if she could. I have been to the north and to Punta Cana.
You are best to take dollars with you. Try and get some $1 bills as when you get to the airport there are men who take all your luggage to your coach and they will expect a tip.
We had our injections to go but alot of people don't bother you are best to ring up and make an appointment asap if you are going to have them done.
Airport fees are $10 when you arrive as you have to buy a tourist card and fill it out (so make sure you have a pen handy!) and $20 when you leave the country.
There are loads of trips around there. I loved ocean world and have been twice.
If you need any more info I would be happy to help |

Thanks for replying Samsung.
So I guess theres no point in taking any Dominican Peso's as they are happy to take dollars?
What kind of beasties am I likely to encounter and what would you recommend ointment wise to take with me?
Can you remember what injections you got?
Also does it cool down much at night?
Thanks |

You might meet a few mossies the best stuff we found was something called afterbite stops the itching straight away. They do spray around the resorts so they are not to bad!
I have been at the beginning of July and November and have never needed more than a t-shirt on at night. It is very very humid!
I reall wouldn't bother with pesos as everywhere accepts dollars and thay are easier to get hold of!
I can't remember the jabs I think there was a hep one and yellow fever your nurse at your doctors will be able to tell you more.
Hope this helps!
