Cancun

Actually, it was my review, and we went to Cancun by choice. If we'd wanted the "real" Mexico, we'd have booked somewhere else. And we went in August because we had to - we don't all get to choose our holiday dates!
No need for people to look down their noses at other peoples' holiday choices.

I don't thnk anyone was looking done their noses at your holiday choice. I know lots of people who have gone to Cancun and love it. It all depends on what you want/expect from a holiday. I've been to Mexico 3 times, but only once to Cancun, the best was for Stacey's wedding in the Mayan Riveria, I just found Cancun 'downtown' very comercilsied,,,but would recommend Mexico all the time.

Don't be offended Doonhamer, It didn't read as looking down their noses at your choce of destination, if everyone liked the same place it would be too crowded.

My mum loved Cancun when she went, we flew to Cancun but stayed in Playacar near to Playa Del Carmen, we never went to Cancun while we were there so don't know what its like but it is very popular.

your report was very informative and I'm sure it would be useful to anyone considering going.
