Boney books

I don`t know if any of you readers can help me out here. Many years ago, I read a lot of books by an Australian author, set in Australia, about a detective who was half white, half aborigine, named Napoleon Bonaparte, Boney for short. I`d like to read them again, but can`t remember the author`s name, just his first name, Arthur, and his surname began with R, I think. They also made a TV series out of them, in the mid to late 70s, called Boney. Hopefully someone will know what I`m on about!

Thanks Dottie, that`s great! I don`t know why I didn`t find these myself, everything I tried brought up books written by someone called Boney! It`s years since I read the books, about 30 years in fact, but I really enjoyed them, also the TV series, which was after I read the books. I had a "thing" about James Laurenson at the time!
