Tonights dinner
FEEDS 2
2 tsp olive oil
180g stewing steak (bite size pieces)
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
120g carrot
120g celery
4 tsp plain flour
2 tsp tomato puree
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
half pint of vegetable stock
2 pinches of oregano
2 pinches of mixed herbs
180g uncooked pasta (dried weight)
240g mushrooms
Heat the oil in a non-stick pan & add stewing steak.
Brown on all sides keeping the heat high
once browned, set aside on a plate & add onions (chopped), crushed garlic, diced carrot & celery to the pan.
Cover & cook over a gentle heat for 10 minutes.
sprinkle over the flour & stir in well
Add meat, tomato puree, worcestershire sauce, stock & herbs & simmer on low heat for 30 minutes
After this time, prepare the pasta according to package directions.
Add mushrooms t the stew & continue to simmer while the pasta cooks
Serve the beef over the pasta
This would also be nice if you replace the pasta with mashed potatoes

stacey, what sort of beef did you use, cos after only 30 mins of cooking any stewing beef I buy is still rock hard!!!!  _________________

Stewing steak. Because you put the lid on it steams it at the same time. It was melt in the mouth.
