I havent any photos. We went 2 years ago and my kids ranged from 5 to 10 and to be honest we had preferred Legoland. If you have teenagers it would be paradise for them. We were there in June and it was very busy with lots of Queues and needless to say it poured rain all day. We came from the Birmingham side and did find it a bit off the beaten track. Hope this helps.

Great place for teenagers of all ages Not quite as many rides as say Blackpool Pleasure Beach but it has some great white knucklers. Its set in magnificent grounds and there are things for younger kids too. Avoid the busy times to get your monies worth we tend to go midweek in September weather can still be nice and most kids back in school.

My 2 children are 13 and 9 and you can bet the 9yr old will be on everything with dad and me and the 13yr old will be standing waiting for them to get off the rides because we are chickens ... never mind its a few days away from home

scoobylou....have you looked at the alton towers website....theres some great pictures here of the rides.

http://www.towerstimes.co.uk/index.php

we went two years on the trot a couple of years ago....we all enjoyed it.

the water rides are always less busy first thing....and it does pay to get a fast track pass for one or two of the big rides.....AIR is still a very very popular ride and isn't that scary...you so feel as if you are flying...if you dont like the rides try to do that one...even i did it!!

another tip is to try and get there as early as possible..i think the park closes at 6...which seems mightly early...its hard to cram everything into a day.

enjoy yourselves. medot.xx

i've not been to euro disney....so cant comment on that.

i do think though that they put a lot of all round family entertainment into alton towers.

it pays to look at the map on the AT's website.....it is a huge place...and can take ages getting from one part of the park to the other.

there are height restrictions as well...and if you and your 13 year old dont want to go on any really scary rides...you might well want to give the area X sector a miss thats where oblivion is and the height restriction is 1.4 metres.

the cable car can take you all around the park and is a good way of seeing the gardens. they are lovely gardens but we only ever saw them after spending the week there...and then my daughter never did!!

Does anyone know if this is true - i've heard that if you would like another day in the park you can apparently buy cheaper tickets for entry the following day incase you don't manage to get around - is this right and if so how much are they?

scoobylou...i can remember as we left the park....there were people standing there telling about how you could get into the park the next day...i'm sure it was for half price.....but we didn't pay that much attention to it as we got a yearly pass.

ooo scoobylou we dont live anywhere near alton towers...mores the pity.

we decided to have a weeks holiday near AT's....bought a yearly pass for the 4 of us and then returned the following year..but the week before...thus we ended up using the pass for two holidays. my daughter and her friend much prefered to spend the days at AT's rather than walking round the penines with hubby and myself.

there wasn't a single day of each holiday that we didn't use the pass...and being a yearly member you got in earlier and also got free parking.

it was well worth the money.
